Credit where due
The design is beautiful, the Shared Album per event is a genuinely great idea, and guests can reply from any device. If your whole circle is deep in the Apple ecosystem, it's a fine choice for a small gathering.
Where Apple Invites gets in the way
Hosting is gated twice
You need an iPhone and a paid iCloud+ subscription just to create an invitation. Android parent? You're not hosting. And events cap at 100 guests.
Friction for half the class
Non-Apple guests report confusing RSVP flows and iCloud sign-in prompts — and contributing photos to the album requires an Apple account. The families least likely to have one are the ones you most need to reach.
An invitation, not a party HQ
No chat — guests default back to texting. No headcounts beyond a plus-N. No waitlist, no reminders that chase non-responders, no way for a parent to add a forgotten classmate.
